Austrian composer Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) wrote around 40 sacred motets, of which Locus Iste has proved to be one of the most popular - a YouTube search produces over 600 hits.

Among these hundreds of performances, very few are performed at the allegro moderato tempo indicated by Bruckner's score. Most are taken at a funereal pace. Consequently the fine performance by Gloucester Choral Society, taken at the proper speed, receives YouTube comments such as Woooooah and It isn't a goddamned show tune!

Here is another well-paced performance by a much smaller ensemble, the Spanish Intermezzo Vocale, and for contrast, a much slower one from the Choir of Somerville College, Oxford.
